Hey thanks Don. You sure know your cars! Photographing these cars is always a pleasure whenever I can find them. I'll have to check out your car photos. -W

A beautiful portrait of a very famous automobile. It's unfortunate that in its latest restoration - it could be called over-restored by many experts, I think - it has lost much of its original look as far as finish and colors go. Although the wood is described as tulipwood, it is in fact Honduras mahogany. The "tulip" refers to the tulip-shaped tail of the car. The father of the man who was Best Man at my wedding owned this car for a while and once when it was being either loaded or unloaded from shipment, it fell and the body was damaged. My friend's dad was a well-known collector (he lived in Pennsylvania) and I have photos of some of his many, many cars.
